BROWPEXY/ FOREHEAD - BROW LIFT

Procedure Objective:

To lift the brow / forehead area in order to attain a more pleasing eyebrow position. Lifting the eyebrows/forehead can and usually does provide a secondary lift to the eyelid area and as a result patients achieve a smoother and “rested” or relaxed look. One can research many options available such as : Coronal, Endoscopic, Temporal, Mid-Forehead, Direct, Supraciliary, Hairline, Transpalpebral, Corrugator Muscle Excision, Brow Bone Reduction, Brow Fixation. Ask your Doctor what your options are and see what approach would be best for you. Doctor Ortega also performs the FeatherLift or Delta Techniques and has had many years of success in this field using a variety of techniques and approaches. FAMI, or (Facial Autografting Muscle Injection System) is a related procedure you may consider researching as it may be of some benefit to a certain segment of patients seeking facial rejuvenation. Secondary procedures can also be performed simultaneously.

Length of Procedure:

1 to 3 hours. (Dependant on what other secondary procedures, if any)

Type of Anesthesia:

Local with sedation, or general.

In/Outpatient Basis:

Usually outpatient.

Possible Side Effects:

Temporary discomfort, swelling, bruising, numbness and/or stiffness.

Possible Risks:

Transient excess tightening and hardening of scar tissue around the affected area, asymmetry, infection.

Approximate Recovery Period:

Back to work: about 1 week. Normal appearance: 2 to 4 weeks. Activity that could jar or bump face: 6 weeks or more.

Duration of
Results:

Anywhere from 5 years to 15 years, dependant on further aging. Patients are always counseled to lead a healthy diet and exercise plan as external factors such as sun exposure leading to photo-damage and excess weight gain and subsequent loss can also contribute negatively to premature signs of aging.
